TXT's Yeonjun Speaks About Recreating Jungkook's 3D: ‘Studying Him Wasn't Easy’
Although TXT member Yeonjun is a remarkable dancer, he acknowledged that matching the skills of the BTS’ Jungkook was 'challenging'.

Tomorrow X Together (TXT) member Yeonjun emerged as a standout performer during the 2023 SBS Gayo Daejeon music festival. Yeonjun set the stage ablaze with his impressive dance cover of BTS member Jungkook’s hit track, 3D. Now, weeks after the performance, TXT’s official YouTube page released a video, titled YEONJUN’s Winter 2023, offering a glimpse into the preparation behind his dance rehearsal on his senior’s song. Although Yeonjun himself is a remarkable dancer, he expressed his deep admiration for Jungkook and acknowledged that matching the skills of the BTS star was a challenging task. The video featured K Pop idol’s dedication, which earned him praise and admiration from fans for his effort in delivering a memorable performance.

Talking about his experience, Yeonjun said, “Cover performances are the hardest for real. It’s not easy to recreate the vibe. Whenever I do cover performances I always think like this. The fans would compare my performance with the original performance, right? Since I need to cover that artist, I thought I should really become that artist, but studying him (Jungkook) wasn’t easy. His relaxed aura was all from experience, so it wasn’t easy to recreate that. The years of experience he had aren’t something I can’t copy."

“While preparing for that, I felt euphoria for the first time in my life. The more I danced, the more I loved it. I was afraid of a lot of stuff and I lacked a lot of stuff as well but my passion was greater than any of those so I couldn’t give up. I think it’ll be my everything going forward," the TXT member added. Meanwhile, before his performance at the 2023 SBS Gayo Daejeon music festival, Yeonjun expressed a slight concern about covering Jungkook’s 3D. In the clip, he mentioned feeling a bit worried about the performance and he wants to ensure that there would be no room for regret.

Currently, BTS’ Jungkook is serving his mandatory military service. After his group went on to explore solo careers, in October 2023, the artist released his first solo album, GOLDEN, followed by his first solo concert. Meanwhile, reports suggest that there might be a joint performance of Standing Next to You by Jungkook and Usher at the Super Bowl Halftime Show on February 11.

Tomorrow X Together, treated fans with their album The Name Chapter: Freefall released on October 13, followed by The Name Chapter: Temptation." Apart from Yeonjun, TXT consists of talented members including Soobin, Beomgyu, Taehyun and Huening Kai.
