The Income Tax Department in Mumbai has issued a job advertisement for positions including those of Inspector, MTS and others. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online at incometaxmumbai.gov.in between December 22 and January 19, 2024. This recruitment drive will fill a total of 291 jobs under the sports quota. Before applying for any post, the candidates must carefully go through the eligibility criteria and selection procedure.

Meritorious sportspersons will be considered for appointment. The candidates will be chosen in the order of preference specified by the Department of Personnel and Training. As per the official notification, first preference will be given “to those candidates, who have represented the country in International Competition with the clearance of the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports.” Then others who have represented the State or University will be considered. Furthermore, in case of a tie between two candidates, “those who have secured a higher position or won more than one medal may be given the preference.”

Income Tax Department Recruitment: Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for Income Tax Recruitment differ depending on the post. For the Inspector and Tax Assistant positions, a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from a recognised university/college is necessary, whereas a Class 12 diploma is required for the Stenographer Grade-II position. Applicants for MTS and Canteen Attendant positions must have a matriculation certificate. Furthermore, meeting the prescribed age limit is required. Moreover, as per the instruction of the government, relaxation of the upper age limit up to a maximum of 5 years and 10 years in the case of SC/ST candidates might be considered.

All candidates must pay an application fee of Rs 200. The fee must be paid online only, and the payment slip must be sent with the application.
